Valentine Card

Valentine Card

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! I know it is still January as I write this post (and when it will be posted,) but I wanted to give you time to find the post and time to make this Valentine card for your special Valentine before the big day.

This one is for my hubby, so if any of you know him, don’t tell him about it! He he he!

Anyway, this card uses the Love & Happiness Bundle which includes the Bouquet of Love Hybrid Embossing Folder. What is a hybrid embossing folder, you ask? Well, click on this blog post and you’ll see what it is and a tutorial on how to use them.

Supply List

  • Basic White Cardstock 8½ x 5½, scored on long side at 4¼, 5 1/8 x 3 7/8″, scrap for sentiment
  • Red Velvet cardstock (retired) Can substitute Real Red Cardstock for this as well. Approx 3 x 3″
  • Real Red Cardstock 5¼ x 4″
  • White Organdy Glittered Ribbon, 7 or 8″
  • Pearl Basic Jewels, 2 small, 1 large
  • Love & Happiness Bundle

Using the hybrid embossing folder, emboss and cut out the red heart and emboss and cut out the Basic White Paper measuring 5 1/8 x 3 7/8″. Set the white heart aside for use on a different project.

Using the blending brush and your Real Red Ink Pad, brush color onto the edges of the embossed paper. Layer this onto the Real Red matte and then onto the card base. Attach the red heart with dimensionals. Stamp the sentiment on a scrap and cut it out with the dies included with the bundle. Attach to the card front with dimensionals. Attach pearls and a bow. I also stamped a sentiment on the inside of the card. In addition, I cut out 2 flowers from the dies included and placed them around the sentiment on the inside of the card.
