Stitched Semi Circles Card

This Stitched Semi Circles Card is just beautiful and it is easier than you might think. You can make this card in several shades of the same color, like I did, or in various colors of the rainbow. You can even use holiday colors and make it a Christmas, Easter, or Fall/Autumn card, depending on your color scheme. It all uses the same basic steps.

Making your Stitched Semi Circles

Stitched semi circles

You’ll use all four of the stitched circles dies in the set. You’ll want to cut go from dark to light and light to dark with your colors. So with the Pretty Peacock and Pool Party scraps, die cut out the largest and the smallest circle. Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay, die cut the two inner sizes for each color. Next, cut each circle in half except the smallest Pool Party circle. Leave that one whole. We’ll use that one to stamp a sentiment on later.

The next step in making the Stitched Semi Circles Card is to adhere your semi circles to each other. As I said previously, you need to go from dark to light and light to dark. Place your semi circles so the flat part is facing away from you. Adhere them so the flat sides and the right sides align. Do the same thing to both stacks, leaving the full Pool Party circle out of the mix. So one stack will have 3 and the other stack will have 4 semi circles.

Assembling the Card

Run one of the Very Vanilla pieces of cardstock through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine using the Subtle 3D embossing folder. Adhere this piece to the Coastal Cabana Mat layer. This will be your card front.

Then, you’ll want to line up your stacked stitched semi circles. Line up the Bermuda Bay layer on both sides, as it is the only semi circle that is an inner circle on both upper and lower sides. This makes this one easiest to align. The upper set should be the set with only 3 layers and the lower set has 4 layers. This will be important when we put the sentiment on.

Make certain you have them centered on your card front. Once you do, adhere them down on the card front.

We want to cover up our seam across the front of our semi circles. Run your ribbon over the seam between the semi circles and adhere it around the back of the card front.

Adhere the card front onto the Pretty Peacock card base.

Our last step for the front of the card is to stamp our sentiment. Mount the sentiment from the Daisy Lane Stamp Set. You want the sentiment that says, “The best moments in my life happen with you.” It fits perfectly on the small circle. Stamp this onto the small Pool Party Circle in Bermuda Bay ink.

Place dimensionals on the back side of the circle and adhere this in the center of the left set of semi circles.

The outside of the card is complete now. Let’s move on to the inside.

Inside the Card

In order to tie the inside to the outside and to give it a little character, let’s take a couple of our left over circles and place them on the inside of the card.

We should have one piece of Very Vanilla left to place on the inside of the card. Lining up a couple of the left over semi circles, place them on the upper right and lower left of the card. This leaves plenty of space to write on the inside of the card.

Now our Stitched Semi Circles Card is complete. Thanks for joining me today. Check out the video to watch me make this card.
