Stamping the Jar and Prepping Dome Assembly

Jar of Flowers Shaker Card

This stamp set is a bit unique in that the jar stamps are reversible. That being said, we will stamp the full jar in Gray Granite on our small piece of Whisper White cardstock. This image we want to stamp the outlines of the jar side of the stamp. Next we’ll stamp the half jar. This image we want to stamp the solid image towards the bottom of the jar in Pool Party ink. Stamp off on a scrap piece of paper first, then stamp your image. This makes the jar look like it is half full of water.

The last layer of stamping inside the jar is the stem stamp. Stamp the stems in Mossy Meadow inside the jar so the flat side of the stems lines up with the bottom of the threads at the mouth of the jar. Let the inks dry, then color the stems in with Old Olive Blends Markers.

Find your piece of wood grained patterned paper. Cut this paper out with the Rectangle Stitched Dies with your Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine. You want the fifth one up if counting smallest to largest. Next punch out the jar by placing the patterned paper in as far as it will go and centering left to right. We will want the rectangle piece with the mason jar shaped hole. Save the cut out for a later project.

Stamping and Coloring the Flowers

Choose the sunflower stamp out of the Jar of Flowers stamp set. Stamp the flowers 3 times and color them with the Blends Markers. See the supplies for the colors I used. You’ll want to stamp the full image once, then the two lower sunflowers a second time and the left most flower a third time. You don’t need to stamp and color the full image 3 times. Set these aside for when we assemble the card.

Assembling the Shaker

Jar of Flowers Shaker Card

Once you have stamped and colored your mason jar, you can assemble the shaker portion of the card. Lay the mason jar image flat on your table top. Add a few of the Flowers for Every Season Gems or whatever you are putting inside your shaker dome on top of your mason jar image. Make sure your “shaker items” are fully inside the lines of the jar. Take off the release paper on the bottom side of the shaker dome. Carefully, place the dome over your gems. This is your shaker assembly! But we don’t really want to stop here.

So, take off the release paper on the top of the shaker dome. Pick up your 2″ piece of Cinnamon Cider ribbon and place if over the area where the threads would be on the jar, securing it into the sticky area of the shaker dome. Next, you’ll need to replace that adhesive by placing glue dots on top of the ribbon so anything we place on top of the shaker dome will still stick well all the way around. Place your wood grain paper with the jar hole over the mason jar dome and press down around the dome so it engages the adhesive. Set this assembly aside and we’ll start assembling the whole card.

Assembling the card

Run your piece of Cinnamon Cider cardstock through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine (formerly known as a Big Shot) with the Tasteful Textiles 3D embossing folder. This will give it a nice added texture when we assemble the card. Next take the dotted lace ribbon and adhere it to the back of the cardstock. Clip your ends so they are even with the length of the cardstock. Add adhesive to the rest of the cardstock and add this to your So Saffron card base, making sure it is offset to the right.

The next step is to adhere your shaker assembly onto the Cinnamon Cider textured cardstock. When you place this, make sure it is toward the bottom of the card. You’ll need to leave plenty of room for your flowers to come out of the top of your mason jar.

Add your colored flowers. Layer the flowers with dimensionals. You should have 3 layers on one flower and 2 layers on another flower. Tie your last peice of ribbon into a small bow and adhere it with a glue dot onto the other ribbon on the mason jar dome.
