How to Punch Small Pieces of Cardstock

Most of the time when you punch a sentiment, your cardstock is large enough to hold it while you punch it out. But what do you do when you have a piece of cardstock that is just the right size and you don’t want to waste it? How do you punch small pieces of cardstock when there isn’t enough room to hold onto it while you punch? You make a handle for your cardstock. Here’s how.

First you stamp your sentiment onto your small piece of cardstock. Then take a scrap piece of cardstock.

How to Punch Small Pieces of Cardstock

This can be a piece you fished out of your recycle bin or a strip you’ve cut off for a larger project. you place a bit of adhesive on the corner of your sentiment where it won’t interfere with the punch and attach the scrap. Use the scrap as a handle to position the sentiment in the punch.

If you think your handle might interfere with your punch, be sure to use repositionable adhesive so you can remove any pieces of your handle after you punch your sentiment.
