Corner Bouquet Easel Card

Corner Bouquet Easel Card

We are using the Corner Bouquet FREE with purchase Sale A Bration Stamp Set to make this Corner Bouquet Easel Card. It is the perfect card to say hello to a loved one. In fact, these cards are going to my Mother-in-Law and Father-in-Law. They are both in assisted living facilities and don’t get many visitors these days. I’ve been trying to send cards frequently so they get mail and know I’m thinking about them.

Even though this is a fun fold card, it is a pretty easy one. Follow along and make your own easel card with the Corner Bouquet Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up!

Stamping

Using Versamark ink, stamp your large corner bouquet with one side going up the center of the white cardstock. Then turn the stamp 90 degrees and stamp the corner stamp going up the center covering the other half of the card.

Once you’ve stamped in Versamark, you’ll need to heat emboss your card front. Using clear embossing power, cover the front of the card and tap excess off. Next take your heat tool and heat the embossing powder until it is shiny and melted all over. Let it cool prior to touching it or it will smudge.

Using the scrap piece of Basic White cardstock, stamp Hello in Gorgeous Grape. Die cut out the sentiment with the Painted Labels Dies. After you’ve die cut the sentiment, stamp the leaves on either side of the “hello” in Highland Heather” by stamping off first then stamping the leaves. This will give a slightly lighter image and the leaves won’t overpower the Hello.

Brushing on Color

Now take your blending brush and we’ll start brushing on the color from lightest to darkest. Start with Balmy Blue in the bottom center of the bouquet. Once you have the Balmy Blue on, “clean” your brush by brushing all visible signs of ink off on a piece of scrap paper. Next comes the Highland Heather. The outermost edge will be Gorgeous Grape. You’ll make this the darkest. Don’t worry if you get color on your embossed area.

Unlike a sponge, you don’t have to start off your project with these Blending Brushes. Their texture is so smooth, they won’t leave any scratch marks.

Once you’ve finished adding color, take a tissue or soft cloth and wipe off the excess color on the embossed areas. This will whiten them up and make them pop.

Assembly

Corner Bouquet Easel Card

Start assembling your Corner Bouquet Easel Card by layering your card front onto one of the Gorgeous Grape pieces of cardstock. Then adhere these onto the 5½ x4¼ piece of Balmy Blue cardstock.

Prepare your card base by scoring it at 4¼” and again at 2 1/8″. Fold and burnish your score lines. Now you’ll want to attach your card front onto the card base. Only place adhesive up to the
2 1/8″ score line on the card base. Adhere your card front onto the base.

The final step is to attach a kick stand to the inside of the card. Adhere the last piece of Gorgeous Grape cardstock to the inside of the card. Using dimensionals, attach the sentiment we stamped earlier to the lower middle of the inside of the card. You need to use dimensionals for this so the easel has a kick stand to stop it and help it stand up. Otherwise, the easel will slide right by the sentiment and close.

Your Corner Bouquet Easel Card is done. If you try this card, post a picture in the comments below. For another tutorial using this stamp set, click here.
