Sweet Ice Cream Shaker Card

Today we’re going to be making a different kind of shaker card. We’ll be using the Sweet Ice Cream Bundle out of the 2021 Jan-June Mini Catalog to make this Sweet Ice Cream Shaker Card. The stamp set and punch will no longer be sold as a bundle as of June 30, 2021, but they did carry over into the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog and can be purchased individually. Supplies

  • Cinnamon Cider Cardstock 8½ x 5½, scored at 4¼”
  • Blackberry Bliss Cardstock 5¼ x 4″, Strip 1 x 5″
  • Basic White strip ¾ x 4″
  • Ice Cream Corner DSP (available until June 30, 2021)
  • Sequins
  • Blackberry Bliss Striped Ribbon 7″, (Available until June 30, 2021)
  • Clear medium envelopes
  • Blackberry Bliss ink pad
  • Banners Pick a Punch
  • Rainbow Glimmer Paper

Assembling the Sweet Ice Cream Shaker

Place the piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) into the medium clear envelope, making sure it is all the way into the lower or upper corner.

The lip of the envelope should be on the front of the card. Add your sequins to the front side of the DSP. Once you have the sequins placed, remove the protective backing from the flap of the envelope and fold it toward the back of the DSP all the way so it is even with the DSP.

Using regular tape, adhere the rest of the clear envelope to the back of the DSP so there is none hanging over and everything is tight up to the edges of the DSP.


This is the basic shaker portion of the card. It is easy and much thinner than previous shaker types. It mails much easier, as well.

Now you’ve assembled the shaker portion of the card, we can begin to decorate the rest of the card. The next step is to adhere the blackberry bliss striped ribbon to the card.

Using the same tape, place the ribbon onto the lower third of the shaker assembly and tape it to the back.

Additionally, place a strong tape adhesive onto the back of the shaker assembly. Don’t use liquid glue as this works better on a porous surface and the plastic envelope is not porous.

After revealing the sticky tape if it has a protective cover, adhere the shaker assembly onto the Blackberry Bliss mat piece of cardstock.

Assembling the Ice Cream Cone

Punch the ice cream scoops out of our rainbow glimmer paper. See the attached video for a tip on how to cut the scoops. Punch the ice cream cone out of the Ice Cream Corner DSP. Add adhesive to the very top of the ice cream cone and place the first scoop of ice cream there. Next add adhesive to the bottom, back of the second and third scoops and place them. Finally, put dimensionals onto the back of the ice cream assembly and place it to the right side of the card front.


Adding a Sentiment

Grab your ¾” strip of Basic White cardstock and the Banners Pick a Punch. Punch one end of the strip. Make sure you keep the divot from your punch. Stamp your sentiment. Then retrieve your divot and place it on the strip where it should be cut. See the video for a great explanation. Do the same for the mat strip.

Adhere the sentiment on top of the ribbon to the left of the ice cream cone.

Place the shaker assembly onto the Cinnamon Cider card base and your Sweet Ice Cream Shaker Card is complete.
