Today we’ll be making this cute four notecard gift set. This idea comes from our guest blogger Sarah H. She is one of my downline demonstrators and the idea and measurements are directly from her. Thank you Sarah for sharing your ideas!
This is an easy project you can make and give to a teacher, coach, friend, co-worker, etc for any occasion.

Notecard Gift Set Holder
Start with a 12×12” piece of DSP cut down to 8.5×12”. If your DSP has a directional pattern, be aware the 12” sides will be the vertical pattern on the finished folder.
Score along the short side at 4 1/8” and
4 3/8”. This will form the spine of your folder. Rotate your paper 90o and score at 3 ¼” and 8 ¾”.
On the top, grab a corner and fold into a triangle by pulling the corner down towards the 8 ¾” score line. Crease with bone folder. Repeat on the other 3 corners.
Fold top and bottom sections in towardsthe center on the horizontal score lines and crease. Then fold and crease on 2 vertical score lines to create the spine on your folder (like a book cover).
Embellish as desired with ribbon (leave enough extra to make a bow) and a sentiment. Apply tape to back of ribbon and adhere around the center of outside of the folder.
Notecards
You can make your notecards however you like. If you’d like to copy mine, here are the instructions. The first thing to note is that you don’t want to add too much dimension to the cards. If you do, they won’t fit into the notecard holder well. So, these cards should be mostly flat with minimal embellishments.
Notecard #1
With four of the notecards from the Notecards and Envelope set and the 3½ x 12 piece of DSP left over from the above project, you’ll make these cards. Cut a 3 x 3″ piece of DSP, 3¼ x 3¼” piece of coordinating cardstock. Layer the DSP onto the cardstock and place on the upper part of the cardstock. Stamp a sentiment and add some bling. First card is done. This is the card pictured above all the way to the right.
Notecard #2
For this card, you’ll need another 3 x 3″ piece of DSP and a 3 x 3″ piece of coordinating cardstock. Layer them off center and adhere them onto the notecard. Stamp your sentiment on the lower part of the card and card #2 is complete.
Notecard #3
The next two cards are a little more complicated. This one has layering circles. I punched out a sunburst circle of coordinating cardstock with a 1¾” DSP circle over it. Under is a piece of ribbon folded in half. That same coordinating cardstock is also layered under my sentiment. Still a very easy card to make.
Notecard #4
For this last card, I cut a 2″ circle into the notecard itself. Then I layered the DSP behind the opening on the inside of the card. I cut the border of the circle using the 2″ and a 2¼” circle, punching out the smaller circle first. The final touch of this card is placing a card sized piece of basic white cardstock on the inside front cover to hide all the mechanics and make it look pretty.
Once all four or your notecards are complete, you can put them into your Notecard gift set holder and gift it to someone special! Thanks again to Sarah H for being our guest blogger today.
