Just wanted to write a quick post on stamp and die storage. How do I store my photopolymer stamp and die bundles? I’ll show you.
Photopolymer Stamps
When I receive my order, I separate out my bundles and sit down to assemble them. By assemble, I mean, I put them together. If the stamps are photopolymer, I take the stamps off the plastic backing page and mount the backing page onto a piece of 5 x 7″ cardstock. When I mount it, I make sure the backing page is flipped over so the words read backwards. Then I use glue dots to mount it onto the cardstock and slip it into the sleeve of the case. Once I have inserted it into the sleeve, I replace the stamps, sticking them directly onto the stamp case.
Doing this makes it easy to see if I have a stamp missing from the set. I can see at a glance if a stamp is missing. Check out the quick video showing all the steps.
Dies
Once I’ve put all my stamps in place, I like to store the dies from the bundle with the stamps. I take a piece of chipboard. It is usually 5 x 6″. If there are a lot of dies, I might make it 5 x 7″. I then mount a piece of magnetic sheeting the same size onto the chipboard. If there is only one page of stamps or one page of dies, I’ll mount the chipboard/magnetic sheet directly onto the stamp case. If there are two pages of stamps, I’ll let the chipboard/magnetic sheet with the dies float inside the stamp case. The same goes for if I have two pages of dies. I’ll mount magnetic sheeting on both sides of the chipboard and let it float inside the case.
The last thing I do, is I’ll write how many dies are in the set on a small piece of cardstock and stick that under the chipboard/magnetic sheet. This is an easy way to figure out if all your dies are there or if you are missing one without having to look up how many dies you are supposed to have in that set.
I hope I’ve simplified your life a bit with this easy storage of stamp and die bundles. Hopefully, you’ll find the storage of your stamps and dies as simple as I do.
