Using the Snail Mail Bundle to make this adorable Snail Mail Stretch Card was so much fun. The Snail Mail Stretch Card is a fun fold card that folds down into a normal A2 card (5½ x 4¼”) and stretches out to a full 11 inches long! Stamping and Coloring

Snail Mail stretch card

Stamp the snail in Memento Black ink and color it with the blends markers noted in the supply list. If you use the same markers I used, your snail should look similar to this picture.

Stamp the “you snailed it” sentiment onto the 1¼ x 4″ piece of Basic White cardstock. Make sure you stamp it to the right side of the paper so you leave room for the envelope.

Prepping the Parts

Use the snail die in the Snail Dies Set and your Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine to cut the snail out. While your are at it, cut out the 3 toadstools (in Real Red), the postage stamp (in Bermuda Bay), and the envelope (In Bermuda Bay). Assemble the envelope, making certain you don’t glue the insides together. Slide the 1 3/8 x 1 5/8 piece of Basic White cardstock into the envelope.

Layer the two pieces of DSP onto the two pieces of Real Red Cardstock. Set these aside.

Assembling Everything

Bottom Layer

Once you’ve scored your card base, fold it as shown in the photo above. The best way to assemble this card is from the bottom up. The reason for this is because we want all the lower layers hidden by the upper layers. So the first layer to go on is the 2¼ x 4 piece of Basic White cardstock with the toadstools on it. Stretch the entire card out and adhere this layer down.

Middle Layer

Snail Mail Stretch Card

Next comes the middle layer. Fold the middle layer down over the bottom layer. Adhere the matted DSP down making sure you cover the entire bottom layer. Remember that you won’t need adhesive on the bottom part of this layer as it will be hanging off the card base.

Now comes the cardstock with the “you snailed it” sentiment stamped on it. You want to place this above the lower fold as shown in the photo to make sure it will be able to be covered in the next step. Once this piece is adhered, you may also adhere the envelope.

Top Layer

For the top layer, you’ll want to fold the entire card down. When you put the DSP layer down, you will see some of the DSP from the middle layer. The idea is you won’t see any of the white sentiment from the middle layer. So, make sure you cover it up when you adhere your top layer down. Finally, adhere your snail onto the center of the top layer. Your card is complete! You’ve just made a Snail Mail Stretch Card.
