Materials you’ll need and sizes to cut them
For the pop-up panel card you’ll need to create a card base in Whisper White of
4¼ x 11″ and score the long side at 5½”. Cut a strip of Basic Black cardstock 1½ x 11″ and score the long side at 2¾, 5½, and 8¼”. Cut 4 squares of 2½”of Basic Black for background mat and 4 squares of 2¼” of Whisper White to stamp on. You’ll also need 2 pieces of Basic Black cut to 5¼ x 4″ for the inside mat and 2 pieces of black and white designer paper cut at 5 x 3¾”. For the outside front of the card, cut a piece of Basic Black 5¼ x 4″ for the front mat and a piece of Whisper White 5 x 3¾” to stamp on.
Stamping, Masking, and Coloring
To duplicate this card, you’ll need the Over the Moon stamp set from Stampin’ Up! Stamp the center cow on the piece of whisper white at was 5 x 3¾”. first. Stamp the same cow again on a post-it note, making sure you stamp his legs over the sticky side of the post-it. (on the non-sticky side of the paper.) Then cut the cow out of the post-it and stick it on the stamped image, covering it up. This is called masking. Now you can stamp the other two cows, slightly overlapping the center cow. Stamp all three cows again on the 2¼ whisper white squares. Also, stamp the grass both on the front panel under the cows and on the small squares. Stamp the sentiment ” Cow’s it Going?” on the last of the 2¼” squares, as well. Color the cow images and the grass with Stampin’ Blends. I used Light Basic Black, Light Smokey Slate, Light Petal Pink, Dark Petal Pink, Dark Poppy Parade, Light Granny Apple Green, Dark Mango Melody, and Light Pool Party. Mat the 2¼” squares onto the basic black 2½” squares.
Assembly
With all your stamping and coloring done, you can assemble your card. The front of the card is straight assembly. Center the stamped sheet with all the cows over the basic black mat. Notice all three basic black mats are the same size, so it doesn’t matter which one you pick. While you’re at it, adhere each of your black and white papers to a black mat. Adhere your cows on the front of the card.
For the inside, adhere your matted black and white papers onto each side of the card. Next, take your 1½ x 11″ strip and fold along all the score lines into a “W” shape. Center each of your matted 2½ squares into one of the spaces on the 1½ x 11″ strip making sure you don’t cover a score line. Glue these down. The last step is to glue down the two free ends of the “W” to the card, lining it up with the black mat on either end.
There you have a Black and White Cow Pop-Up Panel Card.
