Let’s make a memory matching card game today. This memory matching card game would make a great item to give a child, an awesome stocking stuffer (yes, I know it is May,) and a wonderful small gift for craft fair season! I made my Memory Matching Card Game to fit the cases I had on hand, but you can make yours any size that suits you.
Supplies
- 20 pieces of colored cardstock cut to 3½ x 2½”, corners rounded. Make all these the same color.
- 20 pieces of whisper white cardstock cut to 3¼ x 2¼”, corners rounded
- 10 different stamps
- Ink pads
- Blends or watercolor pencils if you want to color in your images (optional)
Cut all your cardstock and round all the corners. Make sure all the colored cardstock is the same color. Otherwise, you’ll be able to tell the different cards from the back and the card game won’t work.
Stamp each image once on each of two pieces of Whisper White Cardstock. Once you’ve stamped your images, you can color them in with the watercolor pencils or the blends markers. This step is optional. If you don’t have 10 images, you can mix it up and place Designer Series Paper on the colored cardstock. Just be sure to make two of what ever you make.
Once you’ve stamped and colored all your images, mount them onto the colored cardstock bases. You should have 10 pairs of matching cards for a total of 20 cards.
The 10 pairs of images can be anything as long as they match. Be sure to color them the same, as well. Once you’ve finished assembling, you’ll need to find a way to store your Memory Matching Card Game.
I happened to have these clear plastic cases from some thumb tacks my daughter bought a while ago. I felt it would be the perfect way to store and package these Memory Matching Card Games. Please leave a comment below if you liked this idea.
