Instructions for 3D Paper Flowers
Punch out 3 of each of the two different sizes of flowers. You can use either card stock or DSP. Either one will work for this project. Once you have your flowers punched out, place them on a couple of paper towels or a cloth towel. Spritz water on them just until they are wet, not dripping. Once you wet your paper, you want to scrunch each flower up. Don’t fold, you want the wrinkled look.
Un-scrunch them while they are still wet, then let them dry. Don’t flatten them out all the way. You still want the wrinkled scrunched look.
After all your flowers are dry, you can start building your 3D paper flower. Place adhesive on the back of one of the bigger flowers and place it inside another, offsetting the petals. Keep doing this until you’ve stacked all six flowers.
Finish off your 3D paper flower by putting a pearl into the center of the flower. Because the flower is all wrinkled and you aren’t adhering it to a flat surface, I usually put a dot of wet glue into the center of the flower, then place my pearl in the center.
Making 3D paper flowers is a great way to use up those scraps of card stock and DSP that we all seem to end up having. Sit down and make a bunch today. You’ll be all ready to embellish that next project! If you’re in need of any supplies, check out the current Stampin’ Up! catalog here.
